This is the second full LP release for Sitting Dove as he continues to challenge the global corporate elites and the direction of their mind control operation commonly known as HOLLYWOOD.
Though mainly leaning on Hip Hop/Rap conventions, Sitting Dove employs a variety of musical genres to explore a range of topics from the personal, to the spiritual, to the political. In the dreamy guitar-laced "Highway," Sitting Dove recounts his relatively 'blessed' upbringing, its complications, and lingering 'curse.' The title track "Hollywood High" walks us through the path his life took shortly after arriving in Hollywood. Somewhat ironically hailing Hollywood in the Rock/R&B-infused Hip Hop of "My Paradise," Sitting Dove calls out his home town celebrities for having let themselves become so co-opted and 'corporatized.' The trippy "Zeta (Remix)" and the haunting "Take Me To Hell" explore the sinister forces at work in the world, while the songs "Rise (Remix)," "New Normal," and "Must March On" further amplify and act as wake up calls.
Bookending the album are two songs urging personal and spiritual empowerment. The LP's opening track "Soul" stylistically adheres to a more traditional Hip Hop/Rap formula in stressing the spiritual aspect of our existence and the forces working against our embracing it. The album's closing track, "Lost," is a genre-defying every-person folk/pop ballad where Sitting Dove urges his listeners to snap out of the daily doldrums, embrace the day, and fearlessly face the unknown...
The music of Sitting Dove is neither for the light-hearted, nor faint of heart. Always unafraid to challenge the powers-that-be, the music of Sitting Dove is for those curious souls brave enough to THINK for themselves, and take a stand for intellectual independence, FREE SPEECH, and LIBERTY at-large. Cheers!
